Each time I press the READ ALOUD button, it gives me this error message:

"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."

But I am signed into my MS account.

It appears that my credentials cannot be verified. When this happens, MS Word defaults to the 3 built-in voices.

Any ideas?

Looks like it's now been fixed (11:30am (UK) time).

Restart your computers.

    Update

    Just spent the last 5 hours tackling this problem. Nothing works.

    Have tried using the repair tool, the uninstall tool, creating new user accounts, etc.

    For whatever reason, MS Word can't verify the credentials. And when it can't it shows you the old 3 voices. Not the new voices. (male and female)

    It might have something to do with "connected experiences" not working. But i have all my privacy settings turned on.

    Maybe it'll fix itself by tomorrow...?

    I am having the same issue. Yesterday the Read Aloud was fine as always - female voice with inflection. But today only a robotic voice. Keeps saying "To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account." But Microsoft shows I'm signed in. I have signed off and back in several times, changed my password several times, signed out of my computer and back in several times! Changed my windows password. And! To top it off, the word doc is showing that I am logged in with Microsoft! What's going on?

    I've done the same. Completely uninstalled Microsoft Office, redownloaded it and ...nothing! Still getting the "To choose what voice" error message agh

    I don't understand it!

    Any Microsoft input here would be appreciated
