"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."

Each time I press the READ ALOUD button, it gives me this error message:

"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."

But I am signed into my MS account.

It appears that my credentials cannot be verified. When this happens, MS Word defaults to the 3 built-in voices.

Any ideas?

Hi guys -

Looks like it's now been fixed (11:30am (UK) time).

Restart your computers.

Can anyone suggest any websites that allow you to play documents out loud? I can't believe this issue isn't fixed yet.

I noticed that the browser version of Word in the immersive reader mode works properly. This means I have to upload my docs to OneDrive so I can access them this way. This is a short term work around I guess.

    Yes. It is.

But if you're a writer like me who uses the feature to proof drafts, it's a pain... because immersive reader isn't flexible enough to allow edits and then pick-up from where you left off.

I've actually had to subscribe to a 'READING SERVICE' using AI and, ironically, the exact voice that's featured in Word to read excerpts I cut and paste, make changes and then bring them back. Real pain!

But, if you do just need to 'hear' a document then 'saving' to ONE DRIVE and then opening it in the browser is the best workaround for now. Yes.

This has been confirmed to be a serious Microsoft bug that developers are supposedly working to fix. Not sure why its taking so long.
