I'm not sure if it works on every document, but it worked on one of mine!
(Edit on 4/26) It works on some documents but not on others... Does anyone else have the same problem?

Someone in the comment section said "The latest word, as of today, is "The latest update in the bug is that there are still some approvals that the team is waiting on. The Word team is treating this as a high-priority incident and is working to have this restored as soon as possible.". So anyone wondering for any updates, there it is...

Yeah, it appears that it has been down for 2 months. That is horrible. we depend on things like this. What other sites are you using that have the similarity check? Because I would definitely like to use it.
I thought it was terrible that the function has not worked for months, especially since I'm paying for it. That's way I contacted Microsoft. I spent two days with two different technicians, both of whom did all types of testing and re-installing software (experimenting, using me as a source). The last one referred me to a level 3 technician and that is where it stands now. He said he will let me know when they have solved the problem.
To be fair, the technicians were very thorough and very diligent about following up on their work. Also, it could very well be that the function is not working properly because of the proliferation of AI.
Copyscape is an alternative to the Similarty function but you have to pay for it.
I believe the most recent word from Microsoft is that this issue is known and they are investigating it. See Suzanne S. As I stated previously, the last time the level 3 technician contacted me was early last week.
I am also experiencing the same problem, my Editor's Similarity is not working, please help.
