I'm not sure if it works on every document, but it worked on one of mine!
(Edit on 4/26) It works on some documents but not on others... Does anyone else have the same problem?

Someone in the comment section said "The latest word, as of today, is "The latest update in the bug is that there are still some approvals that the team is waiting on. The Word team is treating this as a high-priority incident and is working to have this restored as soon as possible.". So anyone wondering for any updates, there it is...

Suzanne, I do appreciate you responding here more than once. It is more than any of the other moderators who chimed in only once have done.
But I do also understand why people are looking for more of an update than what you have previously reported. I need this function for my work, so it would be great to hear something more concrete than that it's been "under investigation" for weeks. I understand you might not have that information, but I hope someone does.
Rucky_frog, I have had no response to my feedback to Microsoft (made 12 days ago). The tech I chatted with soon after the problem developed told me to watch this thread for a solution.
Believe me, when I get any more information, I will update this and all the other threads on the subject, though that shouldn't be necessary because the similarity checker will just start working again (as has been the case with the "transcribe stops at 94%" bug).
