3/25 It's back!
I'm not sure if it works on every document, but it worked on one of mine!
(Edit on 4/26) It works on some documents but not on others... Does anyone else have the same problem?

Someone in the comment section said "The latest word, as of today, is "The latest update in the bug is that there are still some approvals that the team is waiting on. The Word team is treating this as a high-priority incident and is working to have this restored as soon as possible.". So anyone wondering for any updates, there it is...

Just adding my frustration.
Editor's similarity checker is not working for me either. It stopped working this month (Nov).
I have an individual membership. Have had for about 5 years. Fully paid up.
I hope it's sorted soon. Currently 76 folk with the same question.

The latest word from the Word team was: "A bug was opened on this, and it is under investigation. It looks like the team has a lead on the source of the issue based on the latest notes. Once I have more information regarding a fix, I will share here."
18 November 2023 Similarity stopped working in all accounts and versions. I have the same issues that started this week, I posted an error to Help Support in Word, no reply yet. I have a school account, and all versions desktop 2016, and 365 have the same error message.
It started as I was marking in Teams Assignments using Word. I activated Turnitin for an overdue Teams assignment, using settings option to apply Turnitin to all assignments, messages displayed below all students' files displaying "Turnitin pending". I waited and waited, nothing. I returned to Similarity in Teams Word, and ran Similarity. It was pending for some time and then displayed the error message.
I copied text into Word 365 online account, same again, same error message. Tried my Word 2016 also the same, Similarity runs, says pending, then displays the error "something went wrong try again". All versions have stopped running Similarity. Any news anyone?
I have one provided by my school, one of my own, and one provided by my workplace. None of them are working, they all keep saying "something went wrong try again."
I hope they fix it soon, I really need it.
