3/25 It's back!
I'm not sure if it works on every document, but it worked on one of mine!
(Edit on 4/26) It works on some documents but not on others... Does anyone else have the same problem?

Someone in the comment section said "The latest word, as of today, is "The latest update in the bug is that there are still some approvals that the team is waiting on. The Word team is treating this as a high-priority incident and is working to have this restored as soon as possible.". So anyone wondering for any updates, there it is...

just to add to the list of people, there are a lot of other threads asking the same question.
I've been unable to use this for a number of weeks also, hopefully they'll fix it soon as it's really handy writing essays for uni.

I posted this thread for the technician, I think it helped.
I have worked with three technicians so far on this. The last one, Narinder, is supposed to get back to me early in the coming week to let me know how the remedy is progressing.
Microsoft are aware of the issue, but because it's been dragging on for over 3 months, it's clearly not a priority for them.
The best thing is for people to raise a support ticket. Hopefully, if lots of people raise a support ticket, then they might be motivated solve it quicker.

In the search box, enter "similarity checker not working", then click the blue "get help" button. Then from the results that appear, click "contact support".
Sadly, people posting in this thread does nothing, so use your time to raise a support ticket.
No ETA. I hope they fix Help in Outlook. It does not work, either.
