I am an academic user of Visio. Some tabs in Home are not working. For example, Align, Position tabs are grayed out and I cannot enable them. I tried selecting shapes then going in to home, clicking on empty space then going to home; but nothing worked.

    1. Try opening other drawing and select shapes to see if the Home bar still grey.

    3. Create a new blank drawing and add one shape to select, then check if it will show in Home tab.
