Yes, it started again on the 6th of October for me. Exasperating is an understatement.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
OneNote Web Clipper extension on Microsoft Edge stopped working after I cleared browser caches with CC Cleaner.
It worked for a long time, but now it completely stopped working. It asks me to sign in, so I get this:
After I click on Sign in with a Microsoft Account, a window appears but there is no sign in flow, it does nothing but shows me a page "Get OneNote Web Clipper".
I'm unable to sign in, it appears that the login flow is broken. I'm already signed in to my personal Microsoft account throughout my apps and in my browser. I can access the OneNote application and https://onenote.com/Β site without issues.
Please help if there is another workaround to mitigate this issue. If there's no fix I can't use the Web Clipper extension anymore.

I found the root cause by looking into the "Microsoft Entra" portal for my M365 tenant.
In "Enterprise Application" there's a sign-in log available.
It shows that since 2023-10-01 One Note Web Clipper has been failing
and it has been failing because someone at Microsoft needs to update the "secret keys" for the OneNote Web Clipper application(s)
So there problem is nothing at all to do with anything on peoples local machines, or their browser settings etc. etc.
Explains why several many people suddenly get the error at the same time (more or less)
No idea though how to get this information through to the right people at Microsoft
Have raised a support request and sent them the above

I have been in contact with management about this yesterday. They got back and said a worldwide fix is being rolled out. This was the second time I used my contact on this and was asked to continue if it happens again. Also they are reviewing with their engineering team this problem. My assumption is they think the Engineers should hear about it before they do through friends.
I had a reply from MS support, so have sent them the details above.
waiting to hear back further
