OneNote Web Clipper will not sign in

OneNote Web Clipper extension on Microsoft Edge stopped working after I cleared browser caches with CC Cleaner.

It worked for a long time, but now it completely stopped working. It asks me to sign in, so I get this:

After I click on Sign in with a Microsoft Account, a window appears but there is no sign in flow, it does nothing but shows me a page "Get OneNote Web Clipper".

I'm unable to sign in, it appears that the login flow is broken. I'm already signed in to my personal Microsoft account throughout my apps and in my browser. I can access the OneNote application and https://onenote.com/ site without issues.

Please help if there is another workaround to mitigate this issue. If there's no fix I can't use the Web Clipper extension anymore.

Ann, I'm sorry, but I can't find where to up vote your report.

I've put in multiple Feedback reports but I don't even know where to see those.

Can you please give me (us) directions or post a link?

    Thanks,

    Saroj

Well done, Ann. I wasn't aware of the Windows-F to get to a feedback hub. Thank you.

Does anyone know if there is a person or process at the other end to address such feedback? I wouldn't want to waste a lot of time giving feedback if it just goes into a virtual circular filing cabinet.

I don't know for sure, BUT, I did meet the guy once (years ago when I was at Microsoft working as a SME) whose job it was to go through all of the emails generated by the pop-up message that allowed you to email your problems when an error message popped up in IE. I'm guessing it is the same thing here.

Also, about 3 weeks ago, I received a message that a bug that I had reported so long ago that I forgot about it had been fixed. Hopefully, that won't be the case here because I really depend a lot on the OneNote clipper and don't want to wait a year for an answer.

We have a much better chance of someone actually seeing the problem there than we do here in this newsgroup where volunteers read the messages, not employees. Also, you don't need to take the time to report, just go to the Feedback page instead of the report page and click for anything that looks like the current clipper problem. I posted with 2 different accounts (1 personal and 1 business) because I saw different results in the search depending on which account I was logged in as.

Can anyone verify WHERE to make a report to Microsoft that will actually be read and acted upon?

I received my information where I posted earlier through Bing Chat, so not super reliable, but better than this community where it is volunteers that are reading the info and not employees. My post only has two up votes right now. If everyone from this thread does Windows Key + f on their Windows 11 (sorry, I don't have a 10 machine to see if it is the same) and then search on "OneNote Clipper Extension will not sign in" and vote for mine or click the I have a similar problem, they are more likely to see it and fix it.

Also, in Chrome, if you go to Extensions, then inside the OneNote Web Clipper extension, click the view in Web Store. On the web store (chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/onenote-web-clipper/gojbdfnpnhogfdgjbigejoaolejmgdhk) page, on the bottom right side, under Developer, it says "Contact the developer". You can click there and send an email message.

Finally, in edge, click on the ... next to Clipper add-on after clicking on the Extensions icon that looks like a puzzle piece. At the very top of the Edge Add-ons page, there is a Help drop-down box. Like the Windows+F solution, it allows you to capture your screen, send diagnostic data to MS and add attachments. I used the Record my problem button as well when I published mine with the Windows +F option that I asked people to vote on above.

I'm thinking about using my family's computers that have different log in accounts and using the up vote button to get more attention for this problem. I'm guessing we may be out of luck until the next patch Tuesday if it was truly a patch that broke it rather than something on the MS side.
