Sharepoint Thumbmail not diplaying - Reserved

Hi all,

I don't know what has happened. It was working fine and then with no reason stopped. 

I was using powerapps to upload some pictures for the list items into Thumbmail / Image column. It was working fine. Now it doesn't. And even when I try to add it manually from sharepoint lists view it doesn't work either. 
That's what it displays now and at the bottom you can see it was working on previous ones (about 3-4 weeks ago).

I have also noticed change in the link structure, but I haven't changed a single thing. Can somebody explain why is that not working anymore? I needed it urgently today...

    Hi,

    I also experience an issue where by everything was working fine for months pulling images from a sharepoint list to a power BI dashboard. Then all of a sudden some of the images started saving as 'Reserved images' and through playing around with URL concatenations, I managed to get the data pull through with working Image URLs.

    Now there is a new issue that I don't seem to see many people asking about which is that Power BI no longer displays images from sign in datasources (i.e. Sharepoint/Onedrive) which has totally ruined the dashboard with the available fix being discussed anywhere online.

    After some research, I found this article released in Jan 2024 that appears to state that images need to be stored in a public webpage not sharepoint/onedrive: Display images in a table, matrix, or slicer in a report - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

    Quote at bottom: "The URL must be anonymously accessible, not on a site that requires a sign-in, such as SharePoint or OneDrive for work or school."

    Doesn't leave me with any options as where else can I pull images from with all the metadata with them.

    Anyone aware of this update/impacted by it or know a work around to at least export the sharepoint list as an excel with actual images instead of URL images?

    It also happened to me. It seems that Sharepoint randomly identify uploaded images as "attachment". To solve it, you must "force" sharepoint to identify images as images (as redundant as it sounds).

    • Go to the SharePoint list in question.
    • Navigate to "List Settings" > "Advanced Settings."
    • Under "Attachments," check if the "Attachments" option is enabled. If it's not required, try disabling it, re-uploading the image, and then re-enabling attachments (if needed).

    WHY ISN'T THIS FIXED YET!? IT'S HALFWAY THROUGH 2024 AND THERE STILL ISN'T A SOLUTION FROM MICROSOFT??

    BEING FORCED TO TURN OFF ATTACHMENTS AND RELOAD ALL OF THEM OR HAVING TO COMPLETELY REWRITE EXISTING CODE TO ACCOMMODATE A ONE YEAR OLD APP IS NOT A SOLUTION.

    Hello, I followed the people advice and accidently deleted all images that were attachments. Is there a way that I can restore them?

    Have you tried looking at the "recycle bin" of your SharePoint site? You can find it on the "Site Content" page.
