How did my Save As page change? (Word, Windows 10)

Since I got my computer years ago, when I clicked "Save As", my Desktop and recently used folders were the list of options. The past 3 - 4 days, instead of the usual locations, it's One Drive.

I DID NOT change things so how did this happen and how can I change it back. It is a true pain in my butt to have to click a bunch of stuff just to get to my Desktop.!

Every time Windows updates, something I didn't want to happen, happens. The ONLY other time this happened was back when Microsoft sabotages Windows XP. Seriously wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Once again, I will try but it will take a while. I haven't had power for 5 days due to a wildfire that's 48,000 acres and actively growing. I lucked out and am at a friends who has a generator and wifi.

    To turn off OneDrive, the easiest solution is to "unlink" OneDrive (Microsoft's terminology). See the article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/turn-off-disable-or-uninstall-onedrive-f32a17ce-3336-40fe-9c38-6efb09f944b0.

    As I wrote in a previous message, I don't have Windows 10, which means that I can't test any options available there. I think you will be better off changing the options in the OneDrive app as outlined in the linked article above.

    How do I do that? And, can you please look back on my correspondence with Adeyemi Olayemi Samuel on 8/10/2023 and tell me how to get to where I was told to go. I didn't see it and i sent screenshots of what I did see, so he/she could clarify.

    Nowadays, the default in Office, if you have a subscription version, is to synchronize folders with OneDrive.

    In other words, before you selected "Save to Computer by default," you could have saved some document to OneDrive without realizing it.

    To minimize the impact of OneDrive, you may also want to turn off the synchronizing in the OneDrive app (which comes with Windows).

    I followed the directions you gave me. The very 1st document I saved after that, the Save As menu came up the right way. But the next 1, One Drive came up again and has continued ever since. And I have NEVER saved anything to 1 drive.
