The left and right margins/indents are correctly displayed. I expect that the text should get aligned to these. But, it is shifted towards right.
The file uses "mirror margin." The text on alternate pages are aligned correctly.
Actually, the horizontal ruler is fixed at its place. It should move left and right on alternate pages. This is not happening. Which setting is incorrect?

Indeed, but it doesn't under the circumstances I listed in my previous reply.
That is why it is fair to refer to the behavior as a bug.
When the cursor reaches the "text here" page," the ruler is expected to shift correctly.
This is not a new issue. It occurs on the very first page of a section (which means the very first page of the document or the first page following a section break) when "Mirror margins" is enabled. The screen shot below is from Word 2021. The text paragraph shown in the image contains the insertion point. Notice the mismatch between the text position and the margin indicator on the ruler. It would be fair to characterize this behavior as a bug.
