Now that we have a folder with all of the images, How do I connect to it;

Use the query Wizard?

Where do I find the Data Connection Wizzard?

The name of my folder on the C: Drive is NEPhotos

Can I do it with a SQL statement

I have searched around for where and how to do it, but so far got nowhere.

In all honesty we have never been made aware of project requirements, statement of purpose, scope, number of users, security, how the application needs to be updated and distributed, how data changes will be handled, etc. I have asked but never been answered. How can we get you somewhere when we really have no idea of where you are going. It's like we are in the back seat of a car offering directions without a clear understanding of our final destination. We know full well how to drive and shift and obey traffic laws and navigate but the drive often makes the same mistakes, doesn't seem to hear, plays the radio too loud and doesn't respond. Apparently the driver knows how to drive a tractor in a field but we are in a nearly self-driving car.

I have also suggested several times that based on your need for distributing this application across many locations with limited resources and who knows what age of computer, you should consider a web based application. This would allow for instant updates to all users worldwide, You could restrict access if needed. There would be absolutely no cost to any end user unless you wanted to charge a subscription. Images would be available to all users as long as they had a computer, tablet, or phone connected to the internet. No installing anything anywhere.

If you want to continue down the Access path, please consider creating one new thread with the information I suggested in the first sentence above. Also provide what you currently have which I believe is thousands of images.

I re-vitalized an old form, with two jpg-files:

For future use, you can even enlarge the pictures using the Zoom+ button:

So, in principle it works, but only with a valid file-specification.

Hi T.Z.,

If strFile contains the full filespecification, including drive and filetype, it should work

I just did it in Macro Assembler, it has been seven years also.

It is in DB2 format, I still need to find the hard to read, try to get the largest to a readable image, etc.

To be honest I remembered all 72 instructions pretty well.

A lot of people are going to be mad, however just too much to remember and too many problems dealing with older versions of Access, I sent 9 of the 17 computers back to the hospitals, my wife was great.

T Z wants to use a different approach, but to be honest I forgot a lot on the way he wants to do it. He might have a better idea than what you and I had. he may be staying at my home next week.

Thanks for trying to help, I think part of the problem was a slow internet and too many people trying to help. I lost where I was at a lot of times.

I will have some comments to make pertaining to changing or upgrading versions.

I was also trying to keep the peace, which I doubt I will be able to do now.

I cannot even find your last reply.

I have talked to a young man who wants to take an entirely different approach.

He was telling me how they would have approached this in school.

He is already discouraged!

He was saying he use only one SQL line of code to move a record in a list box, how come all of the examples we looked at had 9 lines or more.

You have become impatient with me, I tried the same thing you showed me about your family photo and got a syntax error.

I am upset because I was only seven years away and I forgot a lot and a lot of new terminology.

I will be leaving for Knoxville, I am disappointed because T. Z. (The new kid) did not even get off the ground.

I do not know if he wants to give it a shot, he had nothing in school dealing with web sites and nothing is even in his book about images. He had one line of code for a small simple line and when we looked on line that one line was nine lines.

I tried to construct the test data in multiple ways to try to make it easy on everyone, so we could take a direction everyone can be happy with. I have never been as sick to my stomach as I am now.

I tried to copy your example and am having a problem finding the Image in the text file.

I would like to say more because I live right next to a military test site for the military and NASA.

You tell me what is the best way to construct the files for this application.

I did ask you when I created the NE.txt file from dos did it put the images in the test file? If you want to help me maybe

r we can take one step at a time. That is why I started with creating the text file.

In this way I can find out where I am messing up.
