With the removal of Video Editor on Windows 10, we thought we could use Clipchamp.

But even with the announcement of Clipchamp for business we can't get access with a A5 licence.

Will Clipchamp be included in Educational licences soon?

Hello everyone - thanks so much for commenting here and on other sites such as the Clipchamp feedback portal. It certainly helps us respond and prioritise our work.

Today I can share another update, we have an EDU launch announcement for Clipchamp coming to A3 & A5 SKUs (students and staff) - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/education-blog/what-s-new-in-microsoft-edu-may-2024/ba-p/4132818

We're preparing further information that we'll make available on the Microsoft 365 roadmap and in the message center for your M365 admins soon.

    Hello Caroline,

Greetings! Thanks for reaching out to this forum. I'm Ravi, just like you, a fellow Microsoft user and I'm here to help you with your question today.

The personal version of Clipchamp includes free and paid account tiers.

The work version of Clipchamp is part of Microsoft 365 business subscriptions. It needs to be enabled in your organization by your IT team and you'll need a Microsoft work account to access it. It is the version you can use in work environments in conjunction with other Microsoft 365 business apps that your organization subscribes to.

Clipchamp for work accounts is part of Microsoft 365 E3, Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 Business Standard, and Microsoft 365 Business Premium. Your organization needs to be on one of these SKUs and your user needs to have a Microsoft 365 license assigned to see and use Clipchamp.

The OP appears to be aware of this situation. Her question, the same as mine, is when can EDU users can expect to have access to Clipchamp? I would argue that video editor feature of the Photo's app is used more in in an education setting than a business one. So it seems odd to leave A5 users (who are paying a fair premium) without this function now and without guidance as to when to expect to have access.

Hi Ravi, thank your for the response, however as per my original question, what about us on educational A5 licenses.

We can't use the personal version on our work/University devices as it has no University/work sign in, and we are not permitted to us personal sign-on's to do work business.

Please can it be included or video editor be made available on win 10.
