One Drive Not Working with Mac OS 14 Sonoma

My OneDrive is not syncing with Mac OS Sonoma.

I am getting the "you must restart OneDrive to continue syncing this location" message.

File access and copying are not working. The Finder hangs on "preparing to copy…" The copy never happens and I have lost access on the Mac to all of my OneDrive files. I can see them. They are one the OneDrive server. But, on the Mac I cannot open the file, download or copy to another location.

As all of my work is in the OneDrive Folder, I am frozen out of all of my files.

    OK. So what happens if the settings icon (Gear) is greyed out and I cannot quit Onedrive??

    If I can't quit I cannot reset??

    Please advise.

    Hello,

    you can fix the problem of OneDrive not working with Sonoma 14 by resetting OneDrive and choosing a new location for the OneDrive folder. This video will take you through the steps:

    I am considering upgrading to Sonoma from Mojave (I have no need but no choice).

    I am using OneDrive but I am not synchronizing. Did anyone have problems accessing files on OneDrive in this mode, uploading, downloading them ??? I really would like to avoid trouble.

    That’s exactly what I’m doing until I have comfort the syncing issues are resolved.

    Accessing the files online and saving them online without accessing any local OneDrive sync folder is working for me.

    Does this work when the local o derive folder is placed on an external OWC ssd raid drive?
