One Drive Not Working with Mac OS 14 Sonoma

My OneDrive is not syncing with Mac OS Sonoma.

I am getting the "you must restart OneDrive to continue syncing this location" message.

File access and copying are not working. The Finder hangs on "preparing to copy…" The copy never happens and I have lost access on the Mac to all of my OneDrive files. I can see them. They are one the OneDrive server. But, on the Mac I cannot open the file, download or copy to another location.

As all of my work is in the OneDrive Folder, I am frozen out of all of my files.

    Same problem here!! Tried to download a fresher version of the Mac App store then directly on the MS site (the files and install were different for some reason). And both start to Sync, but shortly after Finder keeps on notifying me that OneDrive needs to restart to sync the folder...

    None of my one drive files are synching.

    Uninstalled One drive reinstalled.

    Trying to log back in and keep getting this error message (ATTACHED)

    Since updating to Sonama :(

    Exact same issue here. Need an update fast as it's causing a major issue in regards to work. and accessing important files.

    Yes. The exact same problem here. The silence is deafening. I wonder if this is OneDrive breaking under Apple’s File Provider extension?

    Regardless, OneDrive is unusable until a fix is issued, unless willing to work on documents using the web interface.

    I HAVE FIXED IT TOOK ME AGES!

    So I removed One Drive completely.

    Then go to your one drive location in the finder. The finder will say in top right hand corner ‘One drive’ can’t be found. DELETE LOCATION. Click it.

    Don’t worry this’ll only delete LOCAL files the online one drive files are still safe. (SAVE ANY FILES SEPARATELY TO SEPARATE LOCATION IF THEY HAVEN'T BEEN UPLOADED TO ONE DRIVE CLOUD YET)

    Then reinstall one drive via App Store.

    Then log in and CREATE a NEW one drive location in your FILES.

    This worked straight away for me.

    Hope it works let me know if it does WOOHOO :)

    Sonama we beat you. So basically I see it as the local location needs resetting to a fresh location and previous local one drive files deleting first.

    Then start a fresh with new one drive location on the Mac.
