MS Office apps not recognizing my display language settings

My employer is located in Finland, and I am the only employee located in the US. My office app menus except and spellcheck do not work (except Outlook and teams) They all default to Finnish. This only happens with the online apps. Desktop apps all work correctly. I bought this computer in the US. I have changed the regional language settings in the apps, as well as in my Office 365 profile. My default language is English (US). Under Region - Choose your settings > I have selected "always use my personal settings". I have checked my browser settings and tried Chrome, Safari, and Edge. I get the same thing for all of them. The result is always the same...Finnish. I've even tried choosing the page translate option in the browser. When I click on that, it asks if I want to translate from Finnish to English, but doesn't translate it when I select yes. So, it's definitely recognizing Finnish as the default language, I have verified that I get the same result on another computer. Both computers were new and were purchased and setup by me in the US. So, I think it's safe to say that it's not coming from my computer or my browser. It's also safe to say that my preferred language settings are being overwritten by something in the Office 365 Org settings.

My Admin has changed the preferred language for the whole organization from the Admin Center's "Org Settings" to English and set my user account preferred language to English and UsageLocation to en-US. Any ideas how we can fix this?

    Dear G Chandler,

Good day!! Thanks for posting your concern in this Microsoft Community.

Per the description shared, I understand your concern and I have noticed the similar concern by the other user in this community and where the problem is caused the AD attribute, please refer to this thread: Language in Office set to English, yet everything is showing in Swedish

So, please contact your IT admin whether your tenant is a Hybrid tenant or a pure cloud tenant and if it's Hybrid, please check the attribute explained in the referred thread and ask the IT admin to change the preferred changes about it.

If it's completely a cloud tenant, I suggest you to contact the IT admin and request them to raise a support ticket from the Office 365 admin center for further investigation with related team. Open the Office 365 admin center> Support> Help & Support

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Mia | Microsoft Moderator
