Dear Support Team

As a result of the recent OneDrive update 23061.0319 (installed on my Mac on the 1st of Apr 2023) OneDrive app won't sync or open on my MacBook Pro (Catalina v10.15.7).

Despite following the steps as (as published in Microsoft Support Centre and also Microsoft Community) OneDrive won't open or function at all.

My feeling is that the new update creates an issue with the Catalina Operating system which unable it to open/function/sync..

Therefore, OneDrive is not working appropriately.

In order to resolve the matter I have followed the below steps and no luck:

Would be highly appreciated if you provide some guidance on the matter.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards

DR

    Hi Tim,

Do you know if this problem persist on the newer Mac OS ? or just catalina.

I've got 2 MACs running on Catalina and 2 running on Ventura. The two Ventura installs updated just fine and are still running, in fact the one I am on now just updated in front of my eyes about 5 min ago and looks fine.

However like everyone else, the two Catalina versions died right in front of my eyes, and no matter what I do I cannot get them back.

FOR MACS RUNNING CATALINA. 10.15 The steps outlined as a fix do not work and if it does it is only temporary till an auto update is delivered and the icon disappears in the top finder bar. App will not sync. PLEASE FIX ASAP!

It also works with version 23.054.0313.0003 (Standalone). The key seems to be to prevent the "updater" from running (per your suggestion via the Activity Monitor), which seems to install the "Rolling out" release 23.061.0319.0003 — which is the one that fails with Catalina. The App Store version has already been updated to 23.061.0319.0003, which is why that also does not work with Catalina. On my Mac, both 23.002.0102.0004 and 23.054.0313.0003 work, with the newer 054 version seeming to work smoother (less rainbow pinwheel time). Thus, it seems that the 23.054 version is the last version that'll work with Catalina (10.15).
