Dear Support Team

As a result of the recent OneDrive update 23061.0319 (installed on my Mac on the 1st of Apr 2023) OneDrive app won't sync or open on my MacBook Pro (Catalina v10.15.7).

Despite following the steps as (as published in Microsoft Support Centre and also Microsoft Community) OneDrive won't open or function at all.

My feeling is that the new update creates an issue with the Catalina Operating system which unable it to open/function/sync..

Therefore, OneDrive is not working appropriately.

In order to resolve the matter I have followed the below steps and no luck:

Would be highly appreciated if you provide some guidance on the matter.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards

DR

It has been 24 hours since i applied app lock mode. It has not updated so far. I am still on 23.002.

While inside of onedrive package, you click get info on the files, then need to unlock changes (click padlock), then add yourself as the owner (bottom section of info window) for updater and standalone_updater. This will allow you to select "lock" checkbox. Keep process monitor open and kill any updater processes immediately.

Alas, I don't think MS will fix it any time soon, or at all. Many others have found a way to fix it themselves in the meantime. Good luck!

I opened a ticket to Support on April 12th. On April 17th they confirmed that there are many users reporting the same issue and "We would like to inform you that our engineering team is reviewing this case and we are working on it. We do not need any further information from you. We kindly ask you to keep the OneDrive application running on your Mac, as the fix will be implemented with an update of the OneDrive application."
I hope that the monthly update of late April / early May fixes it.
