OneDrive's recent update 23061.0319 doesn't open on Mac (Catalina v10.15.7)

Dear Support Team

As a result of the recent OneDrive update 23061.0319 (installed on my Mac on the 1st of Apr 2023) OneDrive app won't sync or open on my MacBook Pro (Catalina v10.15.7).

Despite following the steps as (as published in Microsoft Support Centre and also Microsoft Community) OneDrive won't open or function at all.

My feeling is that the new update creates an issue with the Catalina Operating system which unable it to open/function/sync..

Therefore, OneDrive is not working appropriately.

In order to resolve the matter I have followed the below steps and no luck:

Would be highly appreciated if you provide some guidance on the matter.

I can understand why Microsoft and other companies cannot be expected to support older versions of software, in this case OneDrive, ad infinitum. But that does not mean they cannot maintain a webpage of legacy versions for those who, for one reason or another, are unable to update their OS.

I had that trouble with OS Mojave on one of my Macbooks (I have several in several locations and THAT is why it is so useful being able to store files and manuscripts etc I am working on in the cloud on OneDrive.

However, on that Macbook try as I might I could not install any version of OneDrive. I have no idea why. Finally, I upgraded to Catalina, the next OS up and OneDrive installed just fine.

HOWEVER, the whole point of staying with Mojave had been because it was last OS X which supported 32-bit software. So now there are several programs I can no longer use on that machine.

Jul 19 2023 - NEW ONE DRIVE RELEASE

I see that Microsoft is, as of Today, Pushing a new version. It said that in order to keep using OneDrive I would have to update.

I clicked Ok.

-It closed onedrive

-It downloaded the new .pkg

I did not install it. I clicked on /applications/onedrive and started the current version I have (23.054.0313.0001)

Has anyone installed the new version? Any issues?

Yes. The insider preview worked for me and has worked flawless for almost 3 months.
