Recently updated to new iOS and Microsoft family app keeps crashing. Have restart phone multiple times and uninstall and reinstalled app several times. Before the iOS update, app was giving errors on the notification page. Had to keep hitting refresh button and it would finally connect to Microsoft.

Hey everyone, good news! An update is now available which resolves this issue, with the new app version implementing the fix being 1.24.3. Please update to the newest version and see if the issue is resolved.

Based on some user experience, if you do not get the update offered you may have to uninstall the app first, then reinstall to get the new version.

Yeah the app is broken. Some one on the dev team needs to take a look. I’m guessing it’s throwing some unhandled exception on possibly a background startup process forcing the app to exit, based on the variable time until crashing.

I also notice it definitely happens on refresh, so maybe a bad response from a service call. I’m assuming that runs in the background in addition to manually triggered by swiping down.

Microsoft you should fix! As a workaround you can use the web site itself rather than the app. Kind of a hassle so please fix.

    Edit:

Factory reset my device??? How is that even a suggestion?

Confirmed on two more iPhones. The app crashes two seconds after opening every time. This has started since the last app update a few days ago.

Don't tell people to factory reset their phones. Horrible advice...

By the way, for those who are struggling with this until Microsoft fixes their app, you can still go to https://account.microsoft.com/family/home and access most features.
