OneDrive Will Not Run MacOS Catalina 10.15.7

Ok I have found "A solution" that is really really weird:

1. uninstall all OneDrive related files (put link late, but easy to google it - https://nektony.com/how-to/uninstall-onedrive-on-mac)
2. turn wifi off
3. start activity monitor
4. install version OneDrive ver. 21.139.0711 (fount in the thread above)
5. run installing OneDrive until you are asked about long username and password
6. no have Activiy monitor. app ready : Kill all processes related to "OneDrive", "Update"
7. now turn wifi on AND be careful . when one of those process appears in in the lis tin Activity Monitor - just kill as fast you can :)))
8. fill all needed steps to start OneDrive - watch Activity monitor a be careful on those "Processes related to "OneDrive" and "Update"
9. after all it stopped running the "upadtng process" and OneDrive is FINALLY working!!!! :)))

this is real stupid instruction but I believe anybody here can found a way to kill this automatic process in plist or somewhere in "contents of OneDrive

I have the same problem.

We must remember that MacOS Catalina is not supported by Apple since November 22, and this fact raises a bigger issue, a security issue.

We won't get more security updates to Catalina OS and will be exposed to security threats. For those of us who can update Mac OS to a supported version, like Big Sur (*), we should do it asap. For those whose machines can not run Mac OS versions still supported and want to keep the machine there are two options:

1. assume the risks of using a non-supported Mac OS version;
2. migrate to Linux; I have an even older Mac OS running Ubuntu LTS 22.04.

Unfortunately, there are no valid options to solve the problem of OneDrive, unless Microsoft fixes these problem for an unsupported Mac OS version.

(*) - Mac OS Big Sur End-Of-Life is November 23

Same issue here for me with a Mac (late2012) running 10.15.7

This reinstall has put the cloud back and it's currently processing thousands of changes (until it finds the few dozen that are really changed).

I do hope Microsoft fort this issue permanently soon.

Hi everyone, same issue on my end. Macbook from 2012, running with Catalina. No luck with OneDrive despite uninstalling and reinstalling.

Really not sure what to do...

(all the more frustrating since I was planning to move away from my WD MyCloud device since their server's been broken for days now to OneDrive....)

I tried uninstalling OneDrive 23.061.0319 and installing OneDrive 23.054.0313. The 23.054.0313 version worked briefly. I even had to relink my OneDrive folder which it then transferred to a default location (and, for some reason, I can no longer change location -- but one problem at a time).

After quitting the application and attempting to restart it, it no longer opens up. No cloud icon. Nothing to force quit. Nothing in the Activity Monitor.

When I checked with the Microsoft Autoupdater, it informs me that the OneDrive app is updated to 23.061.0319 --- despite having the "Automatically keep Microsoft apps up to date" option turned off.

At least from my experience, the installation of 23.054.0313 is only for a one-time use then it automatically updates itself to 23.061.0319 somehow.

I'd have to keep on uninstalling and reinstalling OneDrive every time I need to use it... which is a disappointing experience.
