I keep getting an error message whenever I use onenote that says "your system has run out of application memory". It pops up after a couple minutes and has been going on for about a week now. Prior to this it had never happened. this is extremely frustrating because i need to use onenote for medical school. has anybody else had this issue and how do i fix it? i dont know if it has something to do with the new apple update? Plzzzzz help!!

It's hard to give you an exact date because of the staggered way in which we rollout Office Updates, but I can tell you that an improvement had been checked in.. and its a matter of releasing the update that should reach customer before end of year.
I guess I’m joining in on this terrible experience. I’m a dental student and I have had issues accessing and using onenote for about 3 weeks now. I tried closing books and navigating some of the previously mentioned tips and tricks. Nothing! Whatever they did, they need to undo or figure it out. This is affecting too many people to not address it immediately.

I tested the same exact OneNote notebooks on an older mac (Mac Pro, Late 2013, running OS 12.7.1 Monterey) and OneNote is behaving fine on this older OS, using only 260.7 MB (cannot seem to inert screenshot here). So it is a mac OS problem, but apparently only for later OS versions than Monterey. All useful clues. I just hope someone at Microsoft is paying attention (no signs of that on this thread).

Good Discovery! Now I suppose we wait for them to launch a new update to fix this problem.
Has anyone ever been able to get someone from Microsoft on the phone and asked about this issue?
New clue. It is useful to try the online version of OneNote. There, I got a message that the section that will not sync had "grown too large." See yellow box with text near top of screen grab.
It is not at all clear why this thread has not reached the attention of Microsoft at least to the level of a polite "we are working on it" acknowledgement.
