Unable to sign-in to Microsoft Defender on Android devices for child accounts

I purchased a M365 Family subscription so I could use Defender for Individuals on my and my children's devices. The subscription is being shared with both children's MS accounts. I can sign into Defender normally on my PC and Android device, but when I try to sign into the Defender app with their Microsoft accounts on their Android tablets, I get an error: "Invalid license, please contact administrator".

This is happening on two different Android tablets with both their accounts, so I don't think it's a device based issue. Is anyone else seeing a similar issue trying to setup Defender for Individuals on a M365 Family subscription?

    Hi. I'm facing the same error. Android with family link and the logon to defender results in the above mentioned error. Even after the last patch a few days ago.

    I still have not heard back on either ticket I opened or my emails to Android Defender email address. It would be nice if we'd at least get acknowledgement that the issue exists under certain circumstances. Unless Defender for Android is just not compatible with Google Family Link for some reason.

    Just adding a +1 to having this issue. I have an office 365 family account and setup Defender on both myself and wife's phones, no issue, but it doesn't work on childs device with the same invalid license error. Child has an active and valid O364 account that they can log into from the phone for other features, eg One drive so I know the account is good.

    Very frustring and would like to get this fixed please!
