Trying to connect message when Saving in Excel 365

I found this fix as well earlier today before checking my email. It worked fine. I went and rolled back to the last build of 2205 and it worked out so far with two test machines. going to roll it wide until a version fix occurs. I can tell you that most current build has not fixed the issue yet.

I found this way to roll back Microsoft Office 365 to a previous version.

Open Windows Command Prompt as Administrator, run the commands:

cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun

officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.XXXX.XXXX

The version Current Channel 16.0.15225.20288(2022 June 14) worked for me.

I have Automatic Updates disabled until now.

Our organization have opened an official case to Microsoft about this situation.

Office Logs has been sent to Microsoft.

Don't know yet if it will be corrected, but I will keep information up to date in this post.

Also, the problem only occurs in Outlook and Excel when "Save as" tries to access "Documents" that has been redirected.

It does not seems to happen with Word and PowerPoint.

It does not happens with a user chose to open a document and access "Documents".

Instead of rolling back to an older Office 365 version on all workstations, by deploying a script or a package (in reference to AlexRib_sup suggestion), I believe that disabling by Group policies the service WebClient (as suggested by NaftaliGross) is simpler and easier to undo (by just delete the GPO) when Microsoft will publish a new version that corrects the problem.

Effectively, when disabled, the problem does not seems to happens.

But we haven't test yet impacts on shared cloud files (Teams files, sharepoint files, ...).

Do we have any official response from MS? Not seeing this issue listed yet in beta channel.

Microsoft told us that they were aware of the problem.

But did not told us any version target...

So, everybody that communicates with Microsoft is welcome, to keep that problem as a high priority...

Same problem here, 35 employees complaining now for a few weeks. We have Documents redirected to a file server share (we don't use DFS). Connecting takes 30 seconds in Outlook 365, Outlook 2016 and in Excel 365 and Excel 2016. Word is doing fine. Problem is the same on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Rolling back Office is not an option, we need a fix!
