Trying to connect message when Saving in Excel 365

Same issue in our office. All users with O365. It started over this past weekend (07/09/2022). Only Excel files when doing a Save As, Browse. Some users experience it with File Open.

All other applications work without issue. Nothing in event viewer shows any problems.

    I assume if this issue is fixed in Beta, it'll be rolled out to us civilians at some point shortly, without the need to change the Office update channel?

    If so, I will probably wait for a main channel release, to avoid upsetting our security officer.

    Release dates for common Channels should be the following (based on 2nd Tuesday of every month)

    Version 2211

    Current Channel = 13.12.2022

    Monthly Enterprise Channel = 10.01.2023

    So, we will also wait until January '23, as we are on Monthly Enterprise Channel!

    So I thought Microsoft finally fixed this. Earlier this week, Office installed some updates. I am not 100% sure what the build was, but I recall something like V2211 16.015831.20098. Again, I could be missing a number or two. Anyway, with that build, the connecting to server issue was fixed.

    Today, 12/9/, Office again installed more updates. Rebooted computer just to be clean. Now build is 15726.20202 and back to having the connection issue again. oh man!

    We are on Current Channel.

    Just some info.

    Hope this gets fixed soon.

    The build you mentioned is actually v2210, the "fixed" version is 2211, build 15822.20000. I'm currently running (on my workstation) v2301, build 15929.20006 which also doesn't seem to have the issue, I'm set to the Beta channel.

    As far as stable channels go, v2211 is only available on the "Current Channel".

    An Office update applied this morning and I can confirm the issue seems to have been resolved!

    My WINWORD.exe file version number now: 16.0.15831.20190. This matches v2211 from the release notes.
