A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Hello,
As per the description shared, I understand your problem i.e., you are experiencing the system hang when you are downloading the files in your OneDrive but I would like to confirm whether you are syncing the files on your Mac and clicking on Download all files in the OneDrive sync client settings or select the files and downloading the content in the OneDrive?
Moreover, neither action should cause you the problem of system hanging unless you are syncing more than 100,000 files but syncing more than the limitation file will not cause hanging but gives you a processing error.
So, I would like to suggest you launch your Mac in the Safe Mode to see whether the function you are trying runs smoothly without any problem.
Moreover, about your question to James Fred, the features of the OneDrive version from the AppStore is similar to the Standalone version of OneDrive but they are two different apps and many users mentioned some of the problems are fixed by using the Standalone version of OneDrive sync client. The production version of OneDrive Standalone is 22.089.0426.0003, so to narrow down the behavior you can try installing the Production version from the release notes: OneDrive release notes.
Appreciate your understanding!!
Best Regards,
Mia
I have the same problem caused by the overflow of onedirve, and I think it just happened frequently recently, for me, it actually starts last week. My Mac will reboot more than three times when downloading files in onedrive, but how to fix this issue? I am sure this problem does not exist before. I Hope Microsoft can fix this issue early.
The version cited above is for Windows. Following the "OneDrive release notes" link, the current Mac version is still 22.099.0508.0001: "Download OneDrive for Mac (standalone .pkg) - Version **** 22.099.0508.0001 (May 20, 2022)"
