How to turn off the reviewing, editing, and view feature?

Since the reviewing, editing, and viewing feature I cannot copy and paste from a read only document. I have to gain access to even copy and paste. My job requires me to copy and paste from upwards of 10 documents. Since word won't let me copy and paste from a read-only or viewing document I have to check them out of our SVN every time. Does anyone know how to turn this feature off and go back to the original word?

    Hello all,

    Just figured I'd share

We are having an issue with typing in the fillable forms "grey boxes" in a Word document. Our Quality department locks down the forms to prevent user form changing everything but the fillable parts in the form. We changed the permissions on our test group to read\write then we able to use the form just as we did in the past. Problem now is that with the new permissions applied the user can change anything in the folder such as add files, change the name and of course delete files.

Did more toying around with the permissions, below is what I checked.

    Read & execute

    List folder contents

    Read

    Write

The user can add files to the folder but can't delete or rename files with in the folder.

Who thought that this was a good idea?

This is ridiculous and Microsoft needs to do something about it ASAP. We are not able to revert to an older build for compliance reasons and must stay up to date. Microsoft can you give us an update when we will be able to turn this feature off. Our entire company relies on a visiual basic script that this new feature broke.
