Since the reviewing, editing, and viewing feature I cannot copy and paste from a read only document. I have to gain access to even copy and paste. My job requires me to copy and paste from upwards of 10 documents. Since word won't let me copy and paste from a read-only or viewing document I have to check them out of our SVN every time. Does anyone know how to turn this feature off and go back to the original word?

The way we have everything setup the visual basic script tells word to open the document with read only as false. Not sure if this is why ours started working again or not. Our setup basically takes fields from a text file numbered 1-999 and moves them into those fields in a word template with the same numbered fields 1-999.

Not sure if it will be any help at all but we do have a meeting with our account advisor this week. I doubt anything will come of it but we are still actively trying to make sure Microsoft knows this is still causing issues.
Thank you. So far if we save in a new folder, we are able to use the form. We shall see how long this will work. We are working on something different this morning. I will let you know how it goes.
For what it's worth I have had a case open with Microsoft for weeks on this and they got back to me today with this repsonse.
I wanted you to know that
- we discussed this issue with our Technical advisers our senior experts
- But there is no workaround for this. It is by design Behavior.
The same information has been passed to me from the higher level team
I am really not sure what we are going to do as a new solution if MS has no intention of resolving this. I considered converting my thousands of documents to dotm format so that I can enter data into the form fields however opening dotm files from Sharepoint Online doesn't actually open as new Documents....so that won't help at all. Is anyone entertaining other ideas of how to proceed or still have cases they are battling with Microsoft?
