Excel Stocks not working in Office 365 after installing macOS Ventura v13.0

**Parameters:**Hardware: Mac mini 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i3
Software: Office 365 (v16.66.1)
OS: macOS Ventura (v13.0)
Connected Experiences: All On
Auto Update: Have always been On for both Office 365 and macOS

Additional: Nothing new has been installed on the system for over a year (other than SW updates)

TimeLine:

Two days ago: Microsoft Auto Update hung for hours

- Reinstalled MS Auto Update and was able to update MS apps
- Excel Stocks working fine yesterday

This morning: Received error message: "COULDN'T REFRESH DATA TYPES We need to fix your account. Select Microsoft Excel from the top menu > Sign Out. Then sign back in with the account associated with a subscription."

Steps Taken:
Signed out of Office 365; signed back in. No change, and "Stocks" is missing.
Hard Reboot: No change, and "Stocks" is missing.
Scoured the forums online...pretty much tried everything that I could find...

Removed Office 365 Apps, reinstalled, rebooted, etc., signed in again, verified Connected Experiences all are on, and "Stocks" shows up as a menu item: however, when clicking on it, the same error message appears ('COULDN'T REFRESH DATA...").
Removed Office 365 another two times, reinstalled, rebooted, verified Connected Experiences, etc. etc. and no change.
Nothing has changed with my Office 365 subscription (still active, valid, no additional users, etc.).

Thoughts/Questions:

Is this a problem with the latest version of Office 365 (v16.66.1)?

- If so, is there a way to roll back to an earlier version that we know works (I have researched and not been able to find out how to do this.

Is this a problem with the latest version of macOS (Ventura v13.0)?

- If so, is there a way to roll back to a previous version of macOS?

If this isn't the right forum to solve this issue, can someone point me to where I can get assistance; I'm happy to pay a fee, as I'm over four hours of spinning my wheels with everything I've tried.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.

I just received this from Microsoft:

Thank you for sending Microsoft feedback. Your input is valuable to us and helps improve our products.

Your feedback directly resulted in improvements to Office and we believe your issue has been addressed in the latest version of Office 365. Thank you! To get the latest update, follow the steps here.

For your reference, you submitted the following feedback on November 3, 2022:  MacOS Ventura 13.0 users have to downgrade to Version 16.65 because all newer versions up to beta 16.68 do not support stock quotes anymore! It does not work for Excel v16.66; it works with 16.65, so anyone who was on 16.66 has to revert to 16.65. At this point, no one on the forum has been able to get 16.66 to work, and Microsoft has not responded as to when they will correct the problem (please, I hope someone can say otherwise).

To be clear, I said it would work with 16.65. I am not sure it will work for 16.66 especially after you shutdown and restart.

I have no idea why it works. I got that advice on my third chat session with Microsoft Support. My talents lie more in the equity trading world than the software world but my needs cause me to brute force learn some programming.

The first chat session I got the advice to reset the customization on 16.66 and it worked…. For a day..

Hopefully yours keeps working. I can attest that my 16.65 has been solid as a rock. I make sure to keep my ribbon and tool bar in default setting. I had changed it before all this to have the Developer on the toolbar since I program and use VBA extensively. If not having Developer is a problem you can access all the modules under TOOLS - MACROS and thus no need for Developer.

I did exactly as you indicate; I have replace 16.64 by 16.66 and reset customizations following your advice and it worked.

    Thanks

If you wish, could you explain the logic in doing so? How did you think that could work?

    Thanks again for your help.

I had given the steps to get 16.65 working with Ventura a few weeks ago. Some noted it did not work for them, when I asked if they did all the steps it turned out they missed #5 which is to reset customizations. Once they did the list again including #5 it worked for them. I have had 16.65 up and running for weeks with Ventura 13.0.1 and no problem. I hope Microsoft puts in the time to fix this.

    1. Turn off auto-updates in office.
    2. Move the Excel file from Applications to Trash.
    3. Download and install 16.65 with this link.

    https://officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/C1297A47-86C4-4C1F-97FA-950631F94777/MacAutoupdate/Microsoft\_Excel\_16.65.22091101\_Updater.pkg

    1. Open Excel.

    5. Go to Preferences - Ribbon and Toolbar and at bottom you see three dots in a circle. Click on that and choose reset all customizations.

Following this exactly as shown should help you...... let me know.
