Win 10 version 21H2 Build 19044.1706

Excel 2016 Version 2204 Build 15128.20224

This problem occurs randomly and with only a few cells being copied. The spreadsheet locks up and the only way out is Save>Close and open the book again. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to close Excel completely.

Sometimes the top ribbon completely greys out and I can't do anything.

This is becoming a significant problem.

Ok, perhaps not relevant, but have you tried to clear also the WinZip box? COM Add-ins are usually a source of trouble.

Please see my post Aug 10 - yes they are relevant, though I've no idea why. The original reference said delete them, I already had one and added the other and bingo, copy paste problems disappeared.

So if you have them and continue to have problems, try deleting them (first saving the .ini details in case there is a problem, though I doubt they'll be missed).

Omar - not sure I understand why you can't proceed. Are you the admin for the PC? On mine, another way to proceed would be to go in via the security tab on Properties and selvct the appropriat eoptions there.

@Advance1sh - Me either.. never had this happen before.. but that troubleshooting for another day. But yes, I have Admin rights and I did go into Properties as a workaround, to no avail. i return back and he Read Only box I unchecked is still checked... so I need to figure out what's going on with that first before I can proceed. If it is not one thing is another....
