Hello All,

you might know that " Microsoft has blocked Macros from running through internet" do we have any permanent solution on this?

I have tried the below solution which doesn't work.

  1. Save the file to a local hard drive, network share, or cloud share like OneDrive.
  2. Open Windows File Explorer and go to the folder where you saved the file.
  3. Right-click the file and choose Properties from the context menu.
  4. At the bottom of the General tab, you should see a section for Security. Select the Unblock checkbox and select OK.

Also, tried to enable Macros through Macros settings through Trust center but didn't work?

is there any permanent solution on this?

Hi,

I think I found a solution to my problem.

The solution is to re-map the network drive to the fileserver name first and then adding that mapped directory to the trusted locations in excel.

Mapped Location:

\fileserver\networkdirectory and not \[192.xxx.xxx.xxx]\networkdirectory

Hope it helps someone out there.

    We have this same issue today, with the network files, will keep an eye out to see if threre's any solutions. I did contact Microsoft support and they told me to mess with the GPO's on this. I don't think that's the fix since we have a mix of domain and non domain computers. Both are having the same issue.

    We are have the same problem - all of our BI dashboards have been impacted and can not be updated.

    Please provide a solution ASAP. This is critical.

    To be Clear - we also do not have the check box option under file properties.

    Could users still experiencing this "Microsoft has blocked macros..." issue please let us know if they have tried the accepted solution that was posted 17-Jun-2022 on page 2 of this thread by Ryno Nel [e.g., re-mapping the network drive using the standard UNC naming convention (e.g. \<servername>&lt;sharename>) instead of the IP address of the server (e.g. \[192.xxx.xxx.xxx]&lt;sharename>) and then adding that re-mapped share to the trusted locations in Excel].

    Chris_H111 posted a similar solution on 15-Jun-2022 in their thread Office 365 Macros Now Blocked on Local Network.

    Yes and No..We remapped the network drive which works if I'm in our office on the local network, but will not work remote with VPN. Our server is technically not a network and is setup through a PC in our office and we have to use IP Address in reference to the location for that purpose (according to our IT guy).

    Unfortunately I run all of the BI tools and am remote..so as of now I'm still really screwed with this update. Our physical office is 3 hours away from my home and we're a small company of 6 people, so I don't have a team in the office that can take this over.

    Anyone have other ideas?
