Hello All,

you might know that " Microsoft has blocked Macros from running through internet" do we have any permanent solution on this?

I have tried the below solution which doesn't work.

  1. Save the file to a local hard drive, network share, or cloud share like OneDrive.
  2. Open Windows File Explorer and go to the folder where you saved the file.
  3. Right-click the file and choose Properties from the context menu.
  4. At the bottom of the General tab, you should see a section for Security. Select the Unblock checkbox and select OK.

Also, tried to enable Macros through Macros settings through Trust center but didn't work?

is there any permanent solution on this?

Thanks,

AMit

Hi,

I think I found a solution to my problem.

The solution is to re-map the network drive to the fileserver name first and then adding that mapped directory to the trusted locations in excel.

Mapped Location:

\fileserver\networkdirectory and not \[192.xxx.xxx.xxx]\networkdirectory

Hope it helps someone out there.

Regards,

Ryno

    Hi Ryno,

I understand the version you provided is an MSO version and it is hard to identify the actual version of your Office apps from this info. The version looks like xxxx (Build xxxxx.xxxxx click-to-run). Could you please provide us with the screenshot of Microsoft 365 app version? You will find this screen in any Office, click File>Account, as shown below.

Also, may I know if this started happening after Windows or Office update?

We look forward to your reply. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Regards,

    Neha

    Hi Neha,

Above the version and the Build.

I cannot confirm when updates happen in office. I know it started about two days before my first post to this thread.

There is no need to post my spreadsheet, it is a spreadsheet with any macro that runs from our internal network. The problem is that I need to be able to trust a mapped network drive in the excel application.

    Regards,

    Ryno

    Hi Amit Rakibe

Is your issue similar to that described by Chris_H111 in their 14-Jun-2022 threadOffice 365 Macros Now Blocked on Local Network? If so, Chris was able to solve their problem "by mapping the server using \fileserver\servername instead of mapping the server IP and then adding that as a trusted location via Trust Centre".

WE are having the same problem not just excel its Access as well. Udates that seem to be causing it as workstations that havent updated can run them no problem.

Also the "unblock" un the General tab is NOT there so we cant do that
