Hello All,

you might know that " Microsoft has blocked Macros from running through internet" do we have any permanent solution on this?

I have tried the below solution which doesn't work.

  1. Save the file to a local hard drive, network share, or cloud share like OneDrive.
  2. Open Windows File Explorer and go to the folder where you saved the file.
  3. Right-click the file and choose Properties from the context menu.
  4. At the bottom of the General tab, you should see a section for Security. Select the Unblock checkbox and select OK.

Also, tried to enable Macros through Macros settings through Trust center but didn't work?

is there any permanent solution on this?

Hi,

I think I found a solution to my problem.

The solution is to re-map the network drive to the fileserver name first and then adding that mapped directory to the trusted locations in excel.

Mapped Location:

\fileserver\networkdirectory and not \[192.xxx.xxx.xxx]\networkdirectory

Hope it helps someone out there.

    Guessing this broken update just got pushed to the LTS channel as I'm starting to have users affected by this today.

    So far any system with this update has all macro containing documents opened from the network share open instead from INetCashe. I have tried everything related to network shares in this thread and either the workstations were already setup that way or there was no effect.

    Adding the network share to trust center does nothing, it already was there.

    Use name instead of IP for network share. No effect, share is already by name.

    Add fileserver to trusted sites. No effect, was already on the list.

    Remove custom addons. Only had Dymo Label and and removing it had no affect (other than breaking label printing).

    Uninstalling and reisntalling Office worked, until Office updated, then it was broken again.

    It looks like the only fix for me is to reinstall an older build of Office and disable updates...

    Edit: Disabling updates via the option within Office didn't work overnight. Users came in the next morning and were unable to work again. Will have to find another means of blocking Office from updating another workaround to this bug can be found (do not have hope the MS will actually fix it when Office is full of 25+ year old bugs).

    No security checkbox is shown. No effect on result. Location is already mapped as extended drive on system. Copying to base drive has no effect.

    I have the same exact problem. I cannot unblock my own coded macro !! It is a one drive file. There is no network administrator except for me, myself and I. This is a personal PC that no one else uses except for me.

    Now what?????
