Microsoft has blocked macros from running

Hello All,

you might know that " Microsoft has blocked Macros from running through internet" do we have any permanent solution on this?

I have tried the below solution which doesn't work.

  1. Save the file to a local hard drive, network share, or cloud share like OneDrive.
  2. Open Windows File Explorer and go to the folder where you saved the file.
  3. Right-click the file and choose Properties from the context menu.
  4. At the bottom of the General tab, you should see a section for Security. Select the Unblock checkbox and select OK.

Also, tried to enable Macros through Macros settings through Trust center but didn't work?

is there any permanent solution on this?

Hi,

I think I found a solution to my problem.

The solution is to re-map the network drive to the fileserver name first and then adding that mapped directory to the trusted locations in excel.

Mapped Location:

\fileserver\networkdirectory and not \[192.xxx.xxx.xxx]\networkdirectory

Hope it helps someone out there.

    I've been through a mess.

    The company I work for now has all Excel files blocked by default even if I set everything to be opened and free.

    It doesn't even trust my signature! Sigh! Not so good, Microsoft.

    To all support guys: please, stop copy-paste the steps to """fix""" this thing 'cause enabling everything and skipping security checks isn't the solution when you have more than 100 users using computers and opening tons of Excel files: now they have to unblock them everytime!!! This is crazy!!!!!!!

    That's really a mess. A crazy mess. I lost 2 days just to figure out how to fix this stupid and counterproductive block.

    My activites has been stopped for two days!!!

    And I had to mess with registry keys: I wonder who's the genious in Microsoft that thought "AAAHH, let's block 'em all and make them lose their mind while jobs are stucked by us!"

    I think I just lost 10 years of neurons just to hate you, Microsoft!

    You, Microsoft tech support guys are literally useless people.
    OK, we understand that Microsoft is concerned about our security, but this must be done in a smart way and not otherwise (i.e. in a dumb way).
    Files coming through the internet may pose a problem, but let us decide if a file received from our friend or a company where we work is a clean and secure file or not.

    In addition, macros embedded in a file downloaded from the internet can be blocked, if that is necessary, but Microsoft Word IS NOT DOING JUST THAT, but is blocking all the macros I created during years with so much effort.

    So, if I don't have a backup of them, they will all disappear, causing me serious damage. Bear in mind that we can have complex macros developed with hard work over the years, and you delete them in a millisecond. This is a shame for Microsoft.
