Hello All, you might know that " Microsoft has blocked Macros from running through internet" do we have any permanent solution on this? I have tried the below solution which doesn't work. Save the file to a local hard drive, network share, or cloud share like OneDrive. Open Windows File Explorer and go to the folder where you saved the file. Right-click the file and choose Properties from the context menu. At the bottom of the General tab, you should see a section for Security. Select the Unblock checkbox and select OK. Also, tried to enable Macros through Macros settings through Trust center but didn't work? is there any permanent solution on this? Thanks, AMit

Hi Edwine, Thanks for the response. The "Unlock" checkbox does not show in the Properties / General window. It was a file that I developed myself and is not from the internet. We’d like to confirm what is the version and channel of your Excel application? As mentioned in this article Macros from the internet are blocked by default in Office - Deploy Office | Microsoft Docs To help improve security in Office, we’re changing the default behavior of Office applications to block macros in files from the internet. With this change, when users open a file that came from the internet, such as an email attachment, and that file contains macros, the following message will be displayed: If you right click the Excel file and go to Properties> in General tab, can you find a check box for Unblock ? If yes, select the checkbox and then check if you can run macro in the file. If you cannot find the Unlock checkbox, could you share with us the version and channel of your Excel application? Hi Edwine,. I have the same problem when I open an XLSM that I use daily to track hours worked. See message below that appears on opening: I have tried all suggestions and nothing works When I access properties I don't see the popup that allows me to unblock (as illustrated below) The options available to me, when I click on PROPERTIES/GENERAL/ADVANCED TAB are: Guidance would be gladly appreciated as this is an extremely important spreadsheet for me Kind Regards Eithne

you might know that " Microsoft has blocked Macros from running through internet" do we have any permanent solution on this?

I have tried the below solution which doesn't work.

Hi,

I think I found a solution to my problem.

The solution is to re-map the network drive to the fileserver name first and then adding that mapped directory to the trusted locations in excel.

Mapped Location:

\fileserver\networkdirectory and not \[192.xxx.xxx.xxx]\networkdirectory

Hope it helps someone out there.
