Hello All,

you might know that " Microsoft has blocked Macros from running through internet" do we have any permanent solution on this?

I have tried the below solution which doesn't work.

  1. Save the file to a local hard drive, network share, or cloud share like OneDrive.
  2. Open Windows File Explorer and go to the folder where you saved the file.
  3. Right-click the file and choose Properties from the context menu.
  4. At the bottom of the General tab, you should see a section for Security. Select the Unblock checkbox and select OK.

Also, tried to enable Macros through Macros settings through Trust center but didn't work?

is there any permanent solution on this?

Hi,

I think I found a solution to my problem.

The solution is to re-map the network drive to the fileserver name first and then adding that mapped directory to the trusted locations in excel.

Mapped Location:

\fileserver\networkdirectory and not \[192.xxx.xxx.xxx]\networkdirectory

Hope it helps someone out there.

    Checking the Unblock checkbox always works for me. There is currently no setting to apply to all future downloads.

    Hi Edwine,. I have the same problem when I open an XLSM that I use daily to track hours worked.

    See message below that appears on opening:

    I have tried all suggestions and nothing works

    When I access properties I don't see the popup that allows me to unblock (as illustrated below)

    The options available to me, when I click on PROPERTIES/GENERAL/ADVANCED TAB are:

    Guidance would be gladly appreciated as this is an extremely important spreadsheet for me

    Hi Neha

    I've the same problem and don't have available any option to unblock on the properties box! My Excel is updated with Microsoft® Excel® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2205 Build 16.0.15225.20028) 32-bit and already updated the shared drive on the trust center locations option

    I can't use any excel with macros on that location!!

    I need urgent support has we use this excel files for profissional reasons!!! I can't accept you launch this update without a proper solution and support explanations how to unblock the problems!!

    Meanwhile, I found out if my network map drives are based on IP and not server names!!! If I add the server names on the trusted locations, the excel can run the file if the same was open through the server name path. But if I open the same file through the map drive based on IP the file cannot run the macro! The problem is all my company network is based on IP map drives and we cannot change it only because excel trust center cannot handle IP locations. This is inacceptable and unbelievable that Microsoft launch this measure without thinking on the possible network situations and challenges!

    Microsoft messed up with their latest security settings. Can't open our own macro enabled excel files that we were using from years.
