Happy 2022!
A couple days ago, I opened a spreadsheet (that I update, daily), & discovered that the Formula Bar had moved to the bottom of my screen. It still does what it's supposed to, but this positioning makes life difficult in multiple ways (details below).
I can't find an update to the Excel app, or Android OS, that seems recent enough to be responsible, though the Excel screen did seem to become set, approx the same time, to match phone's day/night color schemes.
I can't find any mention, or images – online, on Microsoft.com, in tech pubs/blogs, or community forums – of this behavior, or of any way to move the Formula Bar.
Can anyone provide insight into what happened, or how to fix it?
NOTE : System + app versions follow screenshot, along with "difficulties caused" – mentioned above.

UPDATE: This morning [22-May'22], I opened Excel, on my Android phone, & MS "asked" whether I've enjoyed the "Updated Feature: …Has your editing experience become easier having the Formula Bar at the bottom?" {see add'l att}

PROBLEMS
• Decades of Excel habits, using Formula Bar at top.
• Pop-ups, while typing (suggestions, option selection, etc.), display on top of toolbar, making click/select errors – that clear all content from formula/data entry field – inevitable.
• Enlarging the Formula Bar covers bottom (typically more important) rows of spreadsheet, + makes them trickier to access.

I also found the formula bar had mysteriously moved to the bottom one morning. So annoying because I keep looking for it at the top. It's a hard habit to break. And why would you? It makes no sense at the bottom.
The original poster of this issue was eventuality asked for feedback on the formula bar being at the bottom, yet I've never been given that option.
I wonder if they'd work harder to either change the 'feature' as they have referred to it, or fix the bug, if everyone who has experienced this issue sent in feedback under settings, telling MS to move it back to the top, say once a week or once per day if they've used the app within that time frame. After all, they've changed something that has been a particular way since its inception, without giving people the option to keep it where it has always been.
I'm still confused as to whether it's something I changed by mistake or a MS sanctioned update. The OP posted in January. I didn't start seeing the formula bar at the bottom until perhaps a week ago. And I use the Excel app daily.
This is very true. And the change is so annoying without providing option for users to choose if they like the new change or revert to default.
This could make users begin to resort to alternative spreadsheet.
It's not something you changed, and I think a lot of us are doubtful that it's a MS sanctioned update, versus a bug that happens to different people at different times, since there is no known consistency when it happens.
I got hit with it on only 1 phone back in Jan. Since I'd recently gotten the phone, I decided to do a factory reset, and in doing so, loaded the latest version of Excel at that time. Up until a few days ago, the formula bar was back at the top where most of us want it, and I kept the app regularly updated. When it jumped back to the bottom again, I checked the other phones in my household, and now all 3 have the formula bar at the bottom, and all 3 are running different versions of Excel.
