PowerPoint automatically closes when laptop goes into sleep in windows 11

Hi,

I have recently upgraded my windows system from windows 10 to windows 11.

Though most of the function are working properly, however PowerPoint has been has been having issue.

Whenever the laptop is put/goes on sleep mode with programs like PowerPoint still running and file being open, then when the laptop is switched back on, the PowerPoint automatically closes or shuts down when laptop goes into sleep.

It is taking lot of time to redo the ppts again as text and other changes are lost if unsaved.

Kindly help resolve this issue.

    Windows 11, same problem. Autosave not working either.

    This is also a security issue. Me and my colleagues' reasons for sleep mode is, as the same says, putting the device to sleep when we step away for a few so others don't see/access our devices - it's policy. Kind of a bfd, in my opinion.

    Same issue. Observations: There do not appear to be any "answers" at "answers.microsoft.com", and it is ridiculous that a problem like this exists...How long has MS Office been around? 25+ years?

    Same issue. PPT only. No peripherals in use.

    I will say that I've started using OneDrive and autosave for PPT (this week) which saved me once today already.

    I have the same issue - PPT only on Win10 Dell laptop. I saw the question about peripherals (I use none), but it made me wonder if hardware could be involved. Curious how many on this thread are running Dells or if this is seen on other hardware? I know it's a long shot.

    Right - I've spent 1/2 of my career working for software companies and there are usually 2 top priorities:

    • Security Issues
    • Data Integrity / Data Loss

    This one trips both of those triggers. Come on Microsoft!
