PowerPoint automatically closes when laptop goes into sleep in windows 11

Hi,

I have recently upgraded my windows system from windows 10 to windows 11.

Though most of the function are working properly, however PowerPoint has been has been having issue.

Whenever the laptop is put/goes on sleep mode with programs like PowerPoint still running and file being open, then when the laptop is switched back on, the PowerPoint automatically closes or shuts down when laptop goes into sleep.

It is taking lot of time to redo the ppts again as text and other changes are lost if unsaved.

Kindly help resolve this issue.

    Microsoft is well aware of the problem and are working on it.

    The problem seems to be caused by an interaction between PowerPoint and McAfee's antivirus software.

    Several users have reported that if they remove McAfee, the problem disappears. They can then install other antivirus software and the problem doesn't return.

    I use HP, and the problem is not Dell specific!

    I have an HP and have this problem. I report it frequently via the "feedback" option on PPT but you're right....Microsoft doesn't seem to feel any sense of urgency.

    I think we can if we can credibly say it's a Dell-specific problem. Sounds like you're using a Dell machine? That would make us 2/2. Interested to see if some others on this thread can prove or disprove.

    Hmm, can we somehow ask Dell this question? Microsoft does not seem to be bothered by it.
