PowerPoint automatically closes when laptop goes into sleep in windows 11

Hi,

I have recently upgraded my windows system from windows 10 to windows 11.

Though most of the function are working properly, however PowerPoint has been has been having issue.

Whenever the laptop is put/goes on sleep mode with programs like PowerPoint still running and file being open, then when the laptop is switched back on, the PowerPoint automatically closes or shuts down when laptop goes into sleep.

It is taking lot of time to redo the ppts again as text and other changes are lost if unsaved.

Kindly help resolve this issue.

    That's a problem, all right, but not the one we're trying to solve here, unfortunately.

    Lenovo has a pretty good support forum; you might want to ask there, but first look at your power settings; there you can choose what happens when you close the lid on the laptop. It's possible that it's set to shut the PC down rather than cause it to sleep.

    Or if it's sleeping the computer and the battery gets too low while the thing's snoozing, it might just shut down on its own. In that case, try having it hibernate rather than sleep.

    I am curious about this. Did you uninstall Macafee completely? Because it tries very hard to hang on and get you to resubscribe. So, I wonder if that might make a difference.

    Right click on the app and select uninstall. In the settings, search for "startup apps" and check to see if Macafee is there. Turn it off if it is.

    Hmmm. My McAfee just expired and PPT's autosave function still doesn't work....

    I am having a similar issue.

    Except that ALL apps are closing, including Chrome, not only Powerpoint.

    I am using a Lenovo ThinkPad.

    I am NOT using McAfee software.
