OneNote Error E000006B blg57

Hi for the last 48 hours i have been getting this error in OneNote. i have the latest updates of software installed for both my mac and onenote on mac.

E000006B blg57

Any help would be very appreciated as its affecting my work, im a teacher and use this a digital workbook for my classes.

Just got this as part of my support case, looks like it should be OK now.

There was service degradation: OP283538

More info: Impact was specific to all versions of Microsoft OneNote excluding OneNote 2016 and web client. Windows 10 desktop client, iOS and Android mobile app versions were all impacted.

Final status: We've confirmed that a recent deployment intended to provide optimizations for service stability inadvertently introduced a regression in service logic, resulting in impact. We've reverted the affecting change and confirmed that impact is mitigated.

Start time: Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 5:30 PM UTC

End time: Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 7:00 PM UTC

Root cause: A recent deployment intended to provide optimizations for service stability inadvertently introduced a regression in service logic, resulting in impact.

The service is restored now.

    Also happens on Android.

    The only thing I have that is working with OneNote is OneNote on the web and an older version of OneNote on a Windows 10 machine - OneNote for Microsoft 365 MSO 16.0.14326.20062.

    As best I can tell, the communication between the stored OneNote files on OneDrive and OneDrive for Business is being throttled at the Microsoft end to a level below what is required to sync notebooks if you use multiple notebooks. From my observations, I would say someone has set the number of permissible connections to a very low number at the Microsoft end, but for some reason this isn't happening with an older version.

    With the machine that worked, I saw a lot of comms from OneNote when I hit sync all and when it has finished sync, the traffic from OneNote (in Resource monitor) drops to 0. With all others, where I can monitor the traffic, it is very low and looks like it is throttled or unreliable.

    Same problem here...

    Error E000007B here, I've made a copy of the onenote file using onenote web interface , and then error E000006B....

    Similar problems with Onenote 10.

    The funny thing is that onenote 2016 doesn't have any problem.

    I've been getting the error "OneNote can’t connect to the network. We’ll try to sync your notes when the network is available. E000006B blg5" for the last couple of days on:

    • A Windows 10 desktop PC running Version 16001.14326.20018.0 of OneNote for Windows 10
    • An iPhone using 16.52 (21080301) of the OneNote iOS app

    Both apps are displaying a sync error throughout the day and after any manual attempt I make to synchronize a notebook. I can open the notebooks via the OneDrive website without error. When I look at a notebook on the OneDrive website I can see that some of the changes I've made on the Windows 10 PC are present; therefore, at least some of the data has been synchronized despite the errors appearing in the desktop app.

    Same error with me on Macbook and iPad.

    Tried to re-signing in and relocate the note location in OneDrive.

    It's really causing problem to me because dental school just started and I cannot get the access to my note with different devices.
