OneNote Error E000006B blg57

Hi for the last 48 hours i have been getting this error in OneNote. i have the latest updates of software installed for both my mac and onenote on mac.

E000006B blg57

Any help would be very appreciated as its affecting my work, im a teacher and use this a digital workbook for my classes.

Just got this as part of my support case, looks like it should be OK now.

There was service degradation: OP283538

More info: Impact was specific to all versions of Microsoft OneNote excluding OneNote 2016 and web client. Windows 10 desktop client, iOS and Android mobile app versions were all impacted.

Final status: We've confirmed that a recent deployment intended to provide optimizations for service stability inadvertently introduced a regression in service logic, resulting in impact. We've reverted the affecting change and confirmed that impact is mitigated.

Start time: Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 5:30 PM UTC

End time: Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 7:00 PM UTC

Root cause: A recent deployment intended to provide optimizations for service stability inadvertently introduced a regression in service logic, resulting in impact.

The service is restored now.

    This morning the problem is back. 5 times was not enough, but using the shortcut key I was able to force it to sync many times in succession and eventually it showed it was syncing. So I moved on to the next notebook and lots of rapid forced syncs. Eventually I get a message "Please wait:" which goes away after I stop keep asking it to resync.

    So I think there is a problem with the sync request handling - maybe it is not handshaking properly (could it be Microsoft is using UDP instead of TCP to handle the requests? Surely not).

    A bit of Googling shows a long time ago people had issues with OneNote behind corporate firewalls. After much digging, it apparently uses ports 993 (IMAP) and 443 (HTTPS) to sync. It may not now, but since I have firewalls with a lot of security, I am going to restart them all to clear caches. It is probably not this because on my Android mobile I disable the wifi so that it is using 4G and I can see the notebooks are failing to sync on that.

    Thus the problem is independent of anything at my end, as the problem is all devices (Android, Mac) and network (local then broadband or 4G). Thus it can only be at the Microsoft end. I suspect that there is a very large stalled queue of OneNote sync requests in a machine somewhere.

    Dear Colleagues, I just want to mention that I have the same issue, while trying to sync my notes from OneNote desktop app for windows to my IPhone (same account).

    I'm getting 0xE000006B ctcv error in the IPhone app.

    As of right now everything is syncing fine, yet during business hours we have no hope.

    I have the same problem. I get the warning but: I have two microsoft surface go which I use for private and for work. One of the surface get the error the other one is totally fine. Strangly both of the onenote versions seems to be synced.
