How to disable Files On-Demand in OneDrive MacOS? It's enforced since the last update ...

For OneDrive home and business, I cannot disable Files-On-Demand since the last update. This is crucial, I need full access to my files at all time.

What is going on? Why would you enforce Files On-Demand on your customers, isn't it enough to enable it by default? My 70GB of cloud data is not local anymore, sometimes I have no internet, you are locking me away from my files. Also making it impossible for me to do full text searches. Files On-Demand is also too slow, waiting a second to display folder contents is too much when you organize things in deep folder structures.

How I can disable Files On-Demand? Will you please stop knowing the best for your customers? We aren't toddlers. Thanks!

If Files On-Demand is enforced by policy, I will leave your cloud service once and for all.

    'Always keep on this device' does not work. It does nothing. OneDrive doesn't sync my files nor folders back to my local drive after the request.
    I am on MBA (M1, 2020), macOS Monterey 12.2

    Try clicking the gray cloud icon to the right of each folder. That worked for me.

    Also, check to see if your files were migrated to this location:

    /Users/YOUR_USER_NAME/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.OneDriveStandaloneSuite/OneDrive.noindex/OneDrive

    While right click and selecting 'Always keep on this device' doesn't do anything, the grey icons Image to the right of each file/folder work sometimes. Some of them need to be clicked several times.

    Surprisingly, it did not download almost anything from the cloud.

    But it somehow connected files and folders in OneDrive location to files that exist in OneDrive catch location /Users/YOUR_USER_NAME/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.OneDriveStandaloneSuite/OneDrive.noindex/OneDrive

    Yes, I noticed that the first time. It happened too fast to be downloading files and my files were on my hard drive all along in the "cache" location. Sneaky Microsoft!

    Apologies if this is referred to in the other replies, but for those concerned with Auto Save being broken, I think the reason it works via an App e.g. Word is that you open the Cloud version not the local file. If within an App you navigate to a folder "On My Mac" and open from there auto save doesn't work. So, it appears completely broken for local files.
