How to disable Files On-Demand in OneDrive MacOS? It's enforced since the last update ...

For OneDrive home and business, I cannot disable Files-On-Demand since the last update. This is crucial, I need full access to my files at all time.

What is going on? Why would you enforce Files On-Demand on your customers, isn't it enough to enable it by default? My 70GB of cloud data is not local anymore, sometimes I have no internet, you are locking me away from my files. Also making it impossible for me to do full text searches. Files On-Demand is also too slow, waiting a second to display folder contents is too much when you organize things in deep folder structures.

How I can disable Files On-Demand? Will you please stop knowing the best for your customers? We aren't toddlers. Thanks!

If Files On-Demand is enforced by policy, I will leave your cloud service once and for all.

    While I agree that this info is good to know, the basic premise is that this improves the files-on-demand feature. I don't use that feature, so they really messed up the Onedrive experience for those of us not using files-on-demand. MS really needs to understand their user-base before making such drastic changes, and deleting all my files :( (Fyi, I found your post very helpful; thanks for including it here)

    Microsoft, who allowed you to delete all OneDrives from my computer? How can you do such a thing? Number 1 thing you expect from a cloud service is RELIABILITY. You destroyed all trust build with a single move. If this is not reinstated within the next couple of days - it's time for a new cloud service. I am angry and still can't believe how you could do this.

    Apologies if this is referred to in the other replies, but for those concerned with Auto Save being broken, I think the reason it works via an App e.g. Word is that you open the Cloud version not the local file. If within an App you navigate to a folder "On My Mac" and open from there auto save doesn't work. So, it appears completely broken for local files.

    Yes, I noticed that the first time. It happened too fast to be downloading files and my files were on my hard drive all along in the "cache" location. Sneaky Microsoft!
