Microsoft Office has Identified a Potential Security Concern

Hi,

Starting this afternoon, when I copy an paste an HTML-based wiki file (from Zendesk) into Word, I see the attached error.

I perform this operation numerous times, and never saw this notice until today. I have Word 365 Win10.

The problem does not occur when I paste a Confluence page.

Can someone clarify this message for me? What do they mean by "Choosing YES will enable updating all fields in this file..." What fields? And are they talking about the source file or target file?

This is a bug in the current build - Microsoft is aware if the issue and working on a fix - but I have no ETA for when it will be fixed.

    I have a similar issue and was directed to this thread. I had a tier 2 tech support agent from Microsoft also confirm today they are aware of the problem and working on it. The Office update on 7/13/21 did not fix it. But he was confident that it would be fixed by the next Office update. I'll cross my fingers. It's a nuisance, but manageable for a short time. [Smile]

    Is Office updated as part of the WIn10 updates I periodically receive? If not, how do I receive/install?

    Stephen, if this is a feature you use, and you are not currently experiencing a problem then I would recommend that you NOT update at this time as it was the last two Office and Windows updates that created the problem.

    As far as updating, from WORD, or any other Microsoft product, click on File then on the lower left Account, which will show this page. From here click on the Update Options box, there will be an Update Now option.

    But aren't these updates installed automatically for Office? I've never done so proactively.

    And, I'm currently experiencing the issue (I'm the OP) and I'm not about to revert to an earlier version.
