Word (Mac) Zoom issues

Hi, I´m working in Microsoft Office 365 for Mac. When zooming in on my trackpad the view jumps to a random page while the curser stays where I was trying to zoom in. I've tried reinstalling Word and have done all updates available.

Any suggestions?

    Hi George,

    sorry for letting you wait. Unfortunately, I'm still abroad without access to my Mac. I have though been able to talk to my partner about the issue, who has access to my Mac.

    The issue doesn't seem to occur when clicking +/-. The MacOS version I´m using is BigSur.

    Hi Alex,

    I´m experiencing the issue using Word for Mac 16.52 and I'm indeed one of the M1 users.

    Just fyi I'm Schaefer who opened this thread.

    Thank you so much for your work on this, I very much hope the issue can be fixed as I agree with Owen about how it makes using Word quite difficult.

    I truly understand this issue is causing huge inconvenience for the Word user.

    Please refer to my previous suggestion, use the feedback function to report this issue, and please attach log when submitting the feedback.

    Hi All,

    As multiple users are reporting the similar issue in the community. In order to track the progress of this issue better, we are setting this thread as a Primary threads. If you are having the similar issues on your side, please leave a message here and subscribe this thread for further info.

    Issue symptom:

    When using Zoom in function in Word for Mac, the direction won't respect where your cursor point at. Instead, it will jump to a random page.

    Environment:

    Word for Mac version 16.52 - 16.54

    macOS Big Sur 11.6

    macOS Catalina 10.15.6

    Possible workaround:

    Instead of using the scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in, please click on the +/- button to zoom in.

    Current Status:

    We are waiting for the further notifications from our related resources. If you are having the same issue, please use feedback function in Word for Mac to report this issue. Click on Help > I don't like Something > Add the issue description and tick on the attach log file option.

    Yes, I have the same problem. I thought it was the laptop's problem. Hope there will be a solution soon. My laptop is MacBook Air 2020 with M1 chip.
