Printing Envelopes in Word - Blank Page Printing After

Using Word 2016

Printing form letters and envelopes is a large part of my job. For years I've been able to go to the mailings tab, select envelopes, have the address extracted from the letter and print the envelope no problem. As of this week, every time I do this a blank sheet of paper prints out after the envelope. To clarify, there is not a blank page being added to my document, just a blank page being printed out after the correctly printed envelope. One proposed solution I've seen is to disable two-sided printing which I have done and it did not solve the problem.

Update:

While I have not been able to solve the root problem of Microsoft printing an extra page when printing envelopes, I was able to change printer settings to stop the issue. In printer preferences (for my printer, under the detailed settings tab) I turned disable blank page print on. I want to clarify that this is not the cause of the problem, as I have had this setting off for years and never had this issue, but it does fix the problem :)

    You use the feedback mechanism to make Microsoft aware of it. I provided three links dealing with that.

    Please read them.

    Microsoft will seldom acknowledge anything but bugs do get fixed. Sometimes they announce the fix. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/current-channel

    I just left feedback via Word. I've seen this issue multiple times now with different customers and different manufacturers. It's not a printer or driver issue. Office is broken using the envelope button. As others have stated an envelope template does work and if your print driver has it, uncheck print blank pages but not all manufacturers include that setting.

    This issue needs a quick fix Msoft!

    Yes, please leave feedback in the Word software program. Go to file -> Feedback (down at the bottom on the left-hand side) then send a frown, and describe your problem in the feedback box on the right.

    Hopefully, the more people who complain, the quicker this will hopefully get fixed!

    I have fixed the issue! The fix for me was to go to Apps & Features in Windows Settings. I found "Microsoft 365...". Clicked on modify and repaired it with the "online" option. It no longer spits out a blank sheet after the envelope.
