Convert handwriting to text with Apple Pencil on onenote with iPad Pro

I'm writing this response using an Apple Pencil directly in to the text field in Safari but OneNote can't do this. Can anyone at Microsoft please add ink to text?

Yes, which begs the question why has Microsoft not added the Scribble to text feature in OneNote? It's not a technical or platform issue as it works on a Windows OS device and it works with other iPadOS apps, like Apple Notes, Evernote, and even Microsoft Office365. It really has no logical hurdle other than effort and commitment.

Now Apple has implemented it as keyboard input. All apps can use it, but one note does not allow it. I can change section name using apple's handwriting to text, but I cannot take notes. What is going on. This is a freebie now Microsoft, just allow app to use that keyboard.

So I’ve bought an iPad, Apple Pencil ready for my last year in university and Microsoft are telling me I can’t use a key feature of my iPad with my note taking app of choice all because they have too much pride and want to wage a petty war against apple?

This is the definition of shooting yourself in the foot, it’s not going to make me buy a surface, it’s going to make me stop using Microsoft products. I’ll go elsewhere, simple as. Sort yourselves out Microsoft.

I just bought the Apple Pencil. It is awesome and because OneNote won’t allow this feature I had to download the Apple Notes app which I really would prefer not to use. So, I’ve logged in specifically to leave this comment to say absolutely please make this a feature. It is ridiculous it is not available at this point.

This is a step in the right direction, but I hope they have the option to do the text conversion after I take the whole note. I tried this in Word and it was very awkward that it does the conversion almost as you type. It doesn't seem to get punctuation or spacing correct.
