Convert handwriting to text with Apple Pencil on onenote with iPad Pro

Hello i have recently started using onenote to take notes for my classes, however i enjoy using handwriting with my apple pencil and having it converted into text like i have with other apps. There is no “ink to text”, only a “ink to shape”

    OneNote will convert ink from a Windows machine and from an Android machine but not Appl. It seems like a petty rivalry issue more than anything

    I just downloaded the Word and Excel version for IPAD and I found that the ink-to-text feature is working only when using Word or Excel from the cloud (open in browser). If you open the Word or Excel app the ink-to-text feature is not available :( Not sure if this is the "normal" behavior or I am missing something .......

    Any help woul be appreciated. !!

    Come on Microsoft. Give us Ink-to-Text in Word IOS for iPad Pro. This is the number one complaint of my students - they use Apple pencil to make notes but then have to use a “work around” to get their handwritting converted into text in Word. Fair enough, I suppose your are protecting your Surface Pro products, but you also stand to create considerable value for your customers if you do this. I cannot accept that it is beyond the technical capabilities of Microsoft - or should I?
